During the last few years I have been fortunate enough to to spend about 8 weeks tramping around the South African countryside looking for those elusive Disas which only seem to be around in good numbers after a fire. While tramping around, I have been very fortunate to have the assistance of old friends in finding Disa habitats but each trip has also added a number of new friends to the scene. Were I to try and list them all, I'm sure that I would miss one and to prevent any slight, I just say "Thank You All" and trust that they know who I mean. Some of my South African friends are also growers of my favorite orchid genus and pages containing their setups and flowers are presented here for your information. They are listed below. In addition, you can read the trip report for locations and see some of the flowers on the slide show. A goodly number of people are not included below but that is because they are hikers or botanists or some other classification but I either haven't seen their growing setup or they don't grow Disas but just enjoy them in the wild.
