1999; Orchids of Southern Africa; H. P.
Linder & H. Kurzweil; A.A.Balkema; hardcover; 492 pages; 500 color
plates; 82 line drawings; 458 maps. This has to be the
most complete taxonomic record ever produced about South African
Orchids. I found it to be easy to read and very instructive. Great for
descriptions and locations. No culture except to describe habitats.

1997; Growing South African Indigenous
Orchids; Karsten H.K. Wodrich; A.A.Balkema; hardcover; 255
pages; 94 color plates; 98 b&w photos. This
is the best and most current source of information about growing Disas as
well as some of the other terrestrials. If you can only afford one
book, this is the one!
-
1997; African Orchids in the Wild and in
Cultivation; Isobyl & Eric La Croix; Timber Press; hardcover; 379 pages;
103 color plates; 97 line drawings. Covers those African species which can be found commercially available.
Unfortunately only about 9 pages about Disas

considered the book to use to identify species prior to Linder's current
book.
